Production processes
Material Preparation:
Pull-tight plastic seals are primarily made from PP (polypropylene) and PE (polyethylene) resin, along with laser powder and coloring agents. Additionally, steel is an essential material for plastic security seals, as some designs include a metal insert in the locking chamber. To begin production, the raw materials must be prepared according to a specific formula. Although the base materials and processing methods are generally similar, each manufacturer may have their own proprietary formula.
Injection Moulding:
Before injection molding, the materials mentioned above are thoroughly mixed. The mixed materials are then poured into the injection tank and melted for extrusion molding. A mold inside the injection machine ensures that the pull-tight plastic seals are produced with consistent color, size, and shape.
Heat Staking:
Based on the shape of the seal strap, pull-tight plastic seals can be classified into four types: zigzag belt, ball belt, cylinder belt, and flat belt seals. Pull-tight plastic seals with a zigzag belt are made using one-piece construction and do not require a heat staking process. However, the other three types-ball, cylinder, and flat belt seals-contain either a plastic or metal insert, which requires heat staking to seal the locking chamber.
Inspection / Testing:
Before the marking process, inspection and testing must be carried out. First, our quality control staff inspects the appearance of the seals to ensure there are no defects. Then, a random selection of seals undergoes tensile strength testing. The seal strap must meet a specified tensile strength to ensure it does not break easily.
Printing / Marking:
During this process, your logo, text, numbers, barcodes, and QR codes can be printed on the seal tags. We offer three printing methods: hot stamping, laser etching, and silk-screen printing. If you prefer colorful printing, we recommend hot stamping or silk-screen printing. For printing barcodes or consecutive numbers, laser etching is the best choice. Packaging & Warehousing:
At this stage, the pull-tight plastic seals are ready for packaging. Our staff packs the seals in small quantities using poly bags. A label indicating the serial number range is then affixed to the poly bags and carton boxes. Finally, the products are transferred to our warehouse, where they await delivery to our customers.
