What are cable seals?
Cable seals are a type of security seal or tamper-evident seal. Compared to bolt seals, for example, security cable seals have more versatile applications because the length of the locking mechanism can vary. Cable seals can be classified by the material of the body-as shown on this page-as well as by their locking mechanism and whether the cable length is adjustable.
There are both non-adjustable and adjustable cable seals, such as pull-tight cable seals. Additionally, while many cable security seals are designed for one-time use, reusable cable seals are also available.
How to use cable seals?
1. Put the cable through or around the object you want to seal, for instance a trailer door latch.
2. Thereafter you put the cable's end into the locking mechanism. Make sure that the cable seal is closed correctly.
In addition to the aforementioned classes cable seals are often grouped by the body's material. Popular types are plastic bodies, steel bodies and aluminium bodies. The differences in materials result different (breaking) strengths, diverse applications and different prices.
