Precautions for sealing plastic packaging

Leave a message

Plastic packaging sealing is an important part of ensuring product safety, hygiene and extending shelf life. Whether it is industrial production or home use, it is crucial to seal plastic packaging correctly. The following are some key points to pay attention to when sealing plastic packaging:

1. Temperature control

Temperature is one of the key factors affecting the sealing effect of plastic packaging. Different types of plastic materials have different melting points, so it is necessary to choose the appropriate sealing temperature according to the specific material.

- Single-layer plastic packaging bags: Usually low temperature can be sealed firmly, but the temperature should not be too high to avoid burning the bag.

- Multi-layer composite packaging bags: A higher temperature is required, usually around 200℃ to seal well.

- Heat sealing technology: The sealing temperature should be slightly higher than the melting point of the film, but not too high to avoid burning the film.

2. Pressure control

Applying appropriate pressure when sealing is also an important factor to ensure the quality of sealing.

- Heat sealing: Appropriate pressure needs to be applied to ensure that the film can be fully bonded together. Too low pressure will result in a weak seal, while too high pressure may damage the film.
- Cold seal: Appropriate pressure is also required to ensure that the film can be fully bonded together.

3. Sealing speed

The control of sealing speed also has an important impact on the sealing effect.

- Heat seal: The sealing speed should be moderate. Too fast speed may result in incomplete sealing, while too slow speed will waste time.
- Cold seal: Although it is not affected by temperature, it also requires an appropriate sealing speed to ensure that the adhesive can be evenly distributed and fully bonded.

4. Adhesive selection

For cold seal sealing technology, it is very important to choose the right adhesive.

- Adhesive: It should be able to quickly bond the film at room temperature and have good bonding strength.

5. Cleanliness of the sealing position

The cleanliness of the sealing position directly affects the sealing effect.

- Clean the sealing position: Make sure the sealing position is clean and free of impurities to avoid weak sealing or air leakage at the sealing position.

6. Selection and maintenance of sealing equipment

Choosing the right sealing equipment and maintaining it regularly can ensure the stability and consistency of the sealing effect.

- Heat sealer: suitable for most plastic packaging films, with firm sealing and high efficiency.

- Sealing clip: suitable for simple sealing tasks, but may not be as strong as heat sealing.

- Long tail clip: suitable for temporary sealing needs, but not suitable for long-term storage.

- Heat shrink sealer: suitable for thicker plastic bags, which can ensure sealing and waterproofness.

7. Inspection after sealing

After sealing, a careful inspection should be carried out to ensure the quality of the sealing.

- Check the seal: ensure that the seal is flat and there is no air leakage. If necessary, a pressure test or sealing test can be performed.

8. Handling of special materials

For some special materials or temperature-sensitive products, special attention should be paid to the selection of sealing methods.

- Ultrasonic sealing: suitable for some temperature-sensitive products, such as medicines and cosmetics.
- High-frequency sealing: Using high-frequency electromagnetic fields to bond the films together, it has the characteristics of fast sealing speed and good effect.

Through the above precautions, the quality of plastic packaging sealing can be effectively improved to ensure the safety and hygiene of the product. Whether it is industrial production or home use, the correct sealing method and precautions are essential.
